Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha has reacted to Sunita Ahuja’s claim that the actor was planning to marry his rumoured girlfriend Komal Rani, dismissing the allegation as untrue. His response came after Sunita, while speaking to Rakhi Sawant on a phone call, said she withdrew her divorce petition after learning about the alleged wedding plans.

In a conversation with , Sinha said he was surprised to hear Sunita make the claim and insisted that there was no question of Govinda getting married again. “I am hearing this from you. There’s nothing like this, nor will it happen. There’s no second marriage happening. She is his wife, and there must be something going in her mind that she made those claims,” he said.

Sinha said Govinda would have filed for divorce if he was actually looking to end his marriage and get married again. According to him, it was Sunita who initiated the divorce proceedings before later withdrawing the petition.

“They are both mature people, and while Govinda has never spoken a word against Sunita in public, she has been the one washing dirty linen out. I am sure they both want the best for them and their children. We don’t know what came over her that she took the decision back, but we can hope that things iron out. It’s also for the betterment of the kids, for they really get affected by all this negativity,” he added.

Sinha further defended Govinda, saying the actor is a responsible and respectable member of society who would not deliberately do anything that could have a negative impact on his family. He said Govinda has only tried to make Sunita understand the consequences of making certain statements publicly and has never spoken against her.

The manager also reiterated that there had never been any conversation about Govinda getting married for a second time. According to Sinha, the actor is currently focused on his work.

Sunita’s latest claim surfaced in a video circulating on social media. Rakhi Sawant was interacting with paparazzi when she spoke to Sunita over the phone. During the conversation, Sunita opened up about her decision to withdraw the divorce case against Govinda.

Sunita said she had remained silent about the situation for five to six years and was deeply upset by what had been happening in her marriage. She also spoke about seeing Govinda and Komal Rani together at an airport, saying the sight had left her hurt.

She then claimed that Govinda and Komal Rani were planning to get married.

The claim came shortly after Sunita withdrew the divorce petition she had filed against Govinda.

Sunita filed for divorce from Govinda on December 5, 2024, at the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai. The petition cited adultery, cruelty and desertion as grounds for ending their nearly four-decade-long marriage.

She recently withdrew the divorce petition, a development confirmed by Govinda’s manager after Sunita was seen visiting a family court in Mumbai with their son Yashvardhan Ahuja.

Speaking to in Hindi after the withdrawal, he said, “It is certainly a matter of happiness, but the unfortunate part is that all the drama that has played out in the media over the past one-and-a-half to two years — all of this could have been avoided.”

He added, “We wouldn’t have had to take this matter to the streets or into the public domain, and we could have avoided the damage to the family’s reputation that has happened in the marketplace. Fights happen between many people; they continue and are dealt with privately. But once you go to court, the whole world knows about it.”
