82-gram yellow-metal capsules found concealed in passenger’s mouth at Bengaluru airport

Two yellow-metal capsules weighing approximately 82 grams were detected concealed inside the mouth of a passenger at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Wednesday (August 26, 2026).

The passenger, identified as Mohammed Siraj, an Indian national, had arrived in Bengaluru from Dubai and was scheduled to travel to Ghaziabad by flight.

The detection was made at Terminal 1 during pre-embarkation security checks. While frisking Siraj, CISF sub-inspector Deepak Kumar Sharma allegedly noticed that the passenger was not responding appropriately to the screening officer’s questions, raising suspicion.

Two yellow-metal capsules, weighing around 82 grams in total, were found concealed inside the passenger’s mouth.

The officer immediately alerted his seniors, following which the passenger was subjected to further examination. Two yellow-metal capsules, weighing around 82 grams in total, were found concealed inside his mouth.

The passenger was subsequently handed over to KIA police by the CISF for further legal action. The nature and value of the yellow metal are yet to be established, and further investigation is underway.
