The ACB court in Hyderabad on Friday adjourned proceedings in the Formula E case to October 30 after two companies named as accused failed to appear before the court.

BRS working president and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao appeared before the court following summons issued to him in the case. Former MA&UD special chief secretary Arvind Kumar and HMDA former chief engineer B.L.N. Reddy were also present.

The matter had been listed for the appearance of the accused. However, two companies named as accused numbers five and six were not represented before the court, following which the hearing was deferred.

Lawyers representing Mr. Rama Rao told the media that the court granted time after noting the absence of representatives of the two companies. The next hearing has been posted to October 30.

Speaking outside the court, KT Rama Rao said he would continue to attend the proceedings as required and maintained that he had committed no wrongdoing in connection with the Formula E event.

The case relates to payments made in connection with the Formula E race held in Hyderabad during the previous BRS government. The ACB registered the case in December 2024 over alleged irregularities surrounding payments made by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to Formula E Operations Limited.
