Why Anushka Sharma once said she’d never date actors: ‘Can’t have another person who…’

In a video circulating on social media, Anushka Sharma clearly states she will never date actors. When asked why dating co-actors like Ranveer Singh was a strict no-no for her, the Band Baaja Baaraat actor said, “Ranveer is a very fine guy. Very, very hardworking. But he is quite caught up with himself at the moment, which he should be.”
She added, “I am not meeting boys. I am meeting actors, and I don’t want to be dating actors. Because they are self-obsessed. We all are self-obsessed. I am self-obsessed. I can’t have another person who is self-obsessed. I am not looking for a Mr Right right now.”
On her dream partner, she told Film Companion, “I would want a boyfriend who, at the end of the day, not just tells me what happened in his day but probably asks me, ‘ How was your day, too.'”

The post, being shared on Reddit, caught users’ attention, with some inferring that she manifested her husband, Virat Kohli, because of the clarity in her thoughts.
“I don’t think anyone could love her the way Virat does. That man literally worships the ground she walks on. Looking back, such great hindsight on her part,” wrote one user.
How should a potential partner be?
Another added, “She’s super level-headed and comes off as someone who knew what she wanted right from the beginning! It’s a gift (at least in my eyes), because not many people (forget celebrities) can do that and keep their word even in the years to come with such conviction!”

For her, it was not just about sharing moments but ensuring that both individuals feel valued, heard, and understood. Her perspective sheds light on the importance of a mindful partner in establishing a healthy, balanced relationship.
Anushka’s perspective offered a vital reminder that relationships thrive when both partners are truly attuned to each other’s emotional worlds, said Dr Chandni Tugnait, psychotherapist, coach and healer, founder and director, Gateway of Healing. “A partner who is mindful of your needs and genuinely curious about your life not only deepens the connection but also creates an environment of growth, trust, and mutual respect,” said Dr Tugnait.

Here’s how having someone attentive to your emotional needs helps
Creates an emotional safety net: A mindful partner provides an emotional safety net where you feel seen and validated in moments of joy and during challenges. “They understand the weight of your struggles and offer a space where vulnerability is met with support, not judgment, said Dr Tugnait.

Acts as a mirror for emotional growth: A partner who is genuinely curious about your emotions reflects them to you, often in ways you can’t see yourself. “They may ask questions that make you rethink a situation or feel more deeply about something you hadn’t considered,” contended Dr Tugnait.
Enhances the unspoken energy: A mindful partner doesn’t just ask about your day; they tune into the subtle energies you carry. According to Dr Tugnait, they can sense when you’re holding something in, when you’re excited, or when you’re exhausted. “This deepens the bond without words, creating a sense of belonging that goes beyond dialogue,” said Dr Tugnait.
Reduces the risk of emotional disconnect: By staying attuned to your needs, a mindful partner actively prevents the decline of emotional intimacy when one partner is consistently self-absorbed. “They recognise when small issues are brewing beneath the surface and address them early, preventing misunderstandings or feelings of neglect,” said Dr Tugnait.
‘Anushka Sharma’ has been trending on Google for the past 24 hours.
