Silver jewellery worth ₹5 lakh stolen from shop

Silver jewellery weighing around two kilograms and valued at approximately ₹5 lakh was reportedly stolen from a shop on the upper floor of the Prakash Jewellery building at Gokulatheru in Kuthuparamba.
The theft is suspected to have occurred between 8 p.m. on October 4 and 8.30 a.m. on October 5. The incident came to light when shop owner Ratheesh Gyakkavad, 36, arrived on Monday morning (October 5) to open the shop. He found the shutter lock broken and the silver jewellery missing, and informed the police.
According to the FIR, the stolen jewellery is worth around ₹5 lakh. Mr. Ratheesh said it had been brought to the shop from different jewellery establishments for purification.
A team from the Kuthuparamba police station reached the shop and launched an investigation. The police dog squad and forensic experts also examined the premises and collected evidence.
The police have registered a case under Sections 331(4), 305(a) and 329(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators are examining the circumstances of the theft, available evidence and CCTV footage from the area to identify those responsible.
