When an organisation deviates from its values, faith of those associated with its ideology is shattered: Kaushal Kishore

Former Union Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kaushal Kishore on Tuesday (September 1, 2026) made a cryptic statement that when an organisation or movement deviates from its values, it eventually returns to where it started, and the faith of those associated with its ideology is shattered.

“When any organisation or movement deviates from its values, it ends up back where it started, and the faith of those associated with its ideology is also shattered. Therefore, one should not deviate from its values,” Mr. Kishore, a former Union Minister of State, said in a post on X.

The remark came a day after he wrote on X about a conversation with a friend who told him that “the ball has gone as high as it could go and it is coming down”, adding that the speed of its descent would increase and “no one can reduce the speed of the ball falling”.

The comments drew a response from the Congress, with senior party leader and former Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu interpreting the “ball coming down” remark as a sign of the BJP’s defeat in the coming State Assembly polls.

Mr. Lallu told in Lucknow, “Kaushal Kishore ji did not take anyone’s name, but the hint is so clear. The ball that was continuously thrown upward over the past few years with slogans of development, Vishwaguru, Amrit Kaal and a strong government has now started coming down.”

He said that amid inflation, unemployment, concerns of farmers and youth, economic challenges and growing questions from the public, the BJP leader’s remarks could not be merely a coincidence.

“The truth is, it is not just the ball that is coming down, but the entire game is about to change, and the people of the country have made up their minds,” Mr. Lallu said.
