The Centre has reduced the booking interval for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refills from 45 days to 25 days, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi said on Monday. The revised 25-day booking interval will apply uniformly to LPG consumers in both urban and rural areas.
ANINew Delhi: The Centre has reduced the booking interval for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refills from 45 days to 25 days, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi said on Monday. The revised 25-day booking interval will apply uniformly to LPG consumers in both urban and rural areas.
Gopi shared a copy of the Petroleum Ministry's letter to the oil marketing companies (OMCs) in a Facebook post.
"I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to say that, during the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East in February, 2026, the Ministry, vide PIB Press Release dated 12.03.2026, had prescribed timelines for booking of LPG refills, i.e. 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas as a temporary demand management measure," the letter reads.
