IIM Bangalore’s PGP jumps to No. 21 globally in FT MiM 2026, retains India’s top spot
Synopsis
IIM Bangalore’s two-year PGP has climbed to 21st globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management 2026 ranking, up from 28th in 2025 and 41st in 2024. The institute retained its No. 1 position in India, with stronger career progression, salary outcomes, alumni network and value-for-money rankings.
AgenciesIIM Bangalore’s PGP has entered the global top 25 at No. 21 in the FT MiM 2026 ranking while retaining its position as India’s No. 1 business school.
IIM Bangalore’s two-year full-time MBA programme, the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), has climbed to 21st globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management (MiM) 2026 ranking, up from 28th in 2025 and 41st in 2024, strengthening its position among the world’s leading management programmes.
IIM Bangalore also retained its No. 1 position in India, with the institute becoming the only Indian business school to feature in the global top 25, according to the ranking released on Monday.
The institute’s latest rise was driven by gains in career-related outcomes, including salary, career progression and career services. Its Career Progress rank improved to 69 from 90 last year, while its Careers Service rank rose to 8 from 11.
“The FT MiM 2026 rankings bear testament to the transformational value of an IIMB education and the impact our graduates are making globally. We benchmark our curriculum, methods and outcomes against the best in the world to ensure that students are equipped to navigate unprecedented business complexities with curiosity as well as with judgment. The strong gains in career outcomes reaffirm the value of this approach”, said Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Director-in-charge, IIM Bangalore.
Alumni outcomes lift global standing
IIM Bangalore’s Alumni Network rank rose to 19 globally from 31 in 2025, while its Value for Money rank improved to 65 from 78.
Alumni-driven metrics carry significant weight in the Financial Times assessment, accounting for 56% of the overall ranking, with the remaining 44% based on school-provided data. The ranking evaluates business schools on 19 criteria spanning employment outcomes, career progression, salary, return on investment, diversity, sustainability and internationalisation.
The institute also recorded progress on diversity and sustainability indicators. The share of women on its board increased to 44% from 40%, while its ESG Net Zero Teaching rank improved to 74 from 86.
IIM Bangalore’s three-year climb: from 41st in 2024 to 28th in 2025 and now 21st in 2026, marks a significant improvement in its standing among global management programmes, while its continued No. 1 position in India underscores its strength on career and alumni outcomes.
