Gold prices decreased today (Tuesday, September 22, 2026) at major jewellery brands such as Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Kalyan Jewellers and Joyalukkas, while the 22k gold rate Tanishq increased slightly. Indicative jewellery rates of 24k, 22k, 20k, 18k and 14k gold and 999-purity silver also saw a fall today at the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd (IBJA).

Gold outlook

Vedika Narvekar, research analyst, commodities & currencies, Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers, says, “Gold is steady today, trading near $4,362 an ounce, bouncing back after its worst day in a week yesterday. The big story is oil. It has steadied after losing more than 9% over the past four sessions, as tensions around Middle East exports ease and fresh diplomacy picks up ahead of Trump's UN speech, where he's signaled openness to meeting Iran's Pezeshkian. Lower oil prices mean lower inflation fears, which takes some pressure off the Fed's rate-hike path, and that's exactly what's keeping the floor under Gold today.”
