The FASTag Annual Pass has reached a significant milestone of over 1 crore users since its launch. This initiative offers a one-time payment option for toll access on designated national highways and expressways. The pass is available for non-commercial vehicles and provides fixed-cost toll payments for a year. Users activate the pass through the Rajmargyatra app linked to their existing FASTag.

The FASTag Annual Pass has crossed the 1-crore mark since its launch in August 2025, indicating strong adoption among private vehicle owners using national highways and expressways, the government said on Monday.

The milestone comes a little over a year after the scheme was introduced and highlights the growing use of the pass as an alternative for motorists who frequently travel on toll roads.

The annual pass allows eligible users to make a one-time payment for toll access instead of having to recharge their FASTags repeatedly.

The pass is currently applicable at around 1,150 fee plazas across national highways and national expressways. It is available to non-commercial vehicles that have a valid FASTag linked to the vehicle.

Under the scheme, motorists pay a one-time fee of Rs 3,075 for a validity period of one year or 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever comes first. This provides frequent highway users with a fixed-cost option for toll payments over the applicable period.

The annual pass is activated on the FASTag already linked to the vehicle after the user makes the one-time payment through the Rajmargyatra app. Motorists therefore do not need to obtain a separate FASTag for the annual pass.

The government said the growing number of passes issued reflects increasing acceptance of the scheme among private vehicle owners and its role in facilitating seamless and economical travel on national highways and expressways.

The annual pass is designed particularly around the needs of users who make repeated journeys on the covered highway network. By replacing multiple recharge transactions with a single payment, the scheme provides a more predictable toll-payment arrangement for eligible motorists during its validity period.

The coverage of about 1,150 fee plazas across national highways and national expressways also gives the pass a broad footprint across the country's toll-road network. Its applicability, however, remains linked to the specified fee plazas covered under the scheme.

The government said the initiative has been gaining traction since its launch on August 15, 2025. The 1-crore milestone underscores the scale of its adoption among highway users.

The FASTag Annual Pass forms part of the broader FASTag-based tolling system, under which electronic toll payments are made through tags linked to vehicles. For users opting for the annual pass, the existing FASTag continues to be used, with the pass activated against the vehicle after payment.

The government has positioned the scheme as a way to make highway travel more seamless and economical for private vehicle owners who frequently use national highways and expressways.
