Asian Games 2026 LIVE:

It’s an early start as far as medal events for Indians go on the ninth day of the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Right at the top will be Manju Rani and Priyanka Goswami in the women’s racewalk final. India’s archers will be in action shortly after that in the recurve, compound and mixed team events. A couple of hours later, Manu Bhaker will be back hoping to leave the disappointment of the 10m pistol shooting event behind her as she takes part in the women’s 25m pistol individual qualification precision and team precision, along with Esha Singh and Rahi Sarnobat.

India’s squash trailblazers Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh will play their respective gold medal matches in the afternoon. There will then be a slew of athletics finals in women’s 200m (Harita Bhadra and Unnathi Bolland), men’s 200m (Animesh Kujur), men’s high jump (Sarvesh Kushare and J Aadarsh Ram), women’s 100m hurdles (Nandhini Kongan) and women’s 3000m steeplechase (Parul Chaudhary and Ankita).

He slept under train seats for kabaddi. Now he has two Asian Games gold medals

When he was in his early teens, Aslam Inamdar would scavenge discarded bottles and sell them to scrap dealers to afford a meal. He would travel across Maharashtra to play kabaddi tournaments, sleeping under train seats, boarding trains without tickets, surviving on vada pav or whatever food he could find. Sometimes he would save leftover tournament food in his bag to eat later, even after it had gone bad.
