‘Very mid, boring’: Netizens slam Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2’s song ‘Ala Bolelo’

The makers of Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 have released the film’s first song, “Ala Bolelo.” However, the track has not gone down well with several fans, with many pointing out what they claim are incorrect pronunciations of the Malayalam lyrics sung by Anirudh Ravichander.
Scheduled to release on October 15, Jailer 2 has been teasing fans with song releases ahead of its theatrical debut. However, disappointment began on the day the makers dropped the song’s promo and intensified after the full lyrical video was released on Friday. The song crossed six lakh views within an hour, but the comments section remains divided. While some fans have praised the performance of Shamna Kasmi, others have criticised the song’s use of Malayalam.
One Reddit user wrote, “On a serious note, this desperate attempt to gain Mallu audience is just sad.” Another user commented, “Song is very mid and boring to listen.”

A third user questioned the Malayalam portions of the song, writing: “Funny thing is I have no idea what part of this song is malayalam, like even in Manasilayo with the trash lyrics and grammar, i could understand that they were trying to sing Malayalam here iam just confused other than the random eda mone and pwolichu which ruined otherwise decent female portions.”
“Ala Bolelo” is composed, arranged, produced and sung by Anirudh Ravichander. Anuraja Kamaraj has penned the lyrics for the song.
Directed by Nelson, Jailer 2 also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan and Ramya Krishnan, among others. The film is a sequel to the 2023 film that earned Rs 604 crore against a budget of Rs 200 crore.
