Travis Kelce invests $200 million in Six Flags: How Taylor Swift’s husband turned his childhood love for Cedar Point into a surprising business move
Synopsis
Travis Kelce is expanding his business portfolio with major investment in Six Flags. The NFL star has joined JANA Partners in a roughly $200 million stake in the amusement park company, a move that carries a personal connection to his childhood in Ohio. He has described the investment as a chance to make the parks “even more special” for future generation.

Taylor Swift’s husband Travis Kelce is taking his lifelong love of amusement parks into the business world, joining investment firm JANA Partners in a roughly $200 million stake in Six Flags Entertainment. The Kansas City Chiefs star’s latest investment has a personal connection, too: his childhood memories of Cedar Point in Ohio.

Travis Kelce joins JANA Partners in Six Flags investment
Kelce and JANA Partners announced their investment in Six Flags Entertainment on October 21, 2025, adding the NFL star to a group of investors betting on the future of the amusement park company. JANA Partners established a 9% stake in Six Flags, worth roughly $200 million, while Kelce confirmed his involvement publicly on Instagram.

For Kelce, who is engaged to American popstar Taylor Swift, the investment appears to be about more than business. It brings him closer to a company connected to one of the amusement parks he knew growing up in Ohio.

“To all my fellow theme park and amusement park lovers,” Kelce wrote. “I have some exciting news!!! Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to continue the tradition and make Cedar Point and Six Flags even more special for the next generation of families! Excited to partner with JANA Partners as an investor in Six Flags. So crazy to even imagine this is real, but you gotta love it when life comes full circle.”
Why Cedar Point means something to Kelce
Kelce grew up in Ohio, about 65 miles from Cedar Point, the Sandusky amusement park that has long been a major attraction for people in the Cleveland area. That connection makes his decision to invest in Six Flags less surprising for those familiar with the region.
Robert Niles, editor of Theme Park Insider, said Kelce's Ohio roots help explained his interest in the company. “I don’t know a single person from Cleveland that doesn’t love Cedar Point,” Niles said. “So, no surprise to me at all that a guy from Cleveland would want to be associated with any effort to make Cedar Point an even better place than it already is.”

Six Flags is facing a difficult period
Kelce is entering the Six Flags business at a challenging time for the company. Six Flags' stock had fallen more than 45% during 2025, as the company dealt with several pressures, including unfavorable weather, weaker attendance and increasing competition in the theme park industry.

His relationship with Taylor Swift has also brought him an even larger audience outside professional football.
The company has also been working through the challenges that followed the merger between Six Flags and Cedar Fair. Niles described the current situation as particularly difficult for the newly combined company.
“A lot of people in the industry will acknowledge that Six Flags is a mess right now,” Niles said. “The merger of Six Flags and Cedar Fair has not delivered the benefits that people were hoping for. The headwinds that these parks have been fighting have just been too strong for them. Those two companies had to borrow a lot of money to get through the pandemic, and the shrinking buying power of the middle class has really hurt their core market.”

Six Flags shares jumped after the investment news
Despite the challenges facing the company, news of the investment triggered a strong response on Wall Street. Six Flags shares jumped more than 20% during the trading session before finishing nearly 18% higher.
The market reaction highlighted the attention that Kelce's involvement can bring to a company outside his usual NFL world.
For Six Flags, the investment also comes at a time when the company is attempting to navigate the financial and operational challenges created by the merger and a difficult environment for its core customers.
Kelce's business portfolio continues to grow
The Six Flags investment is the latest addition to Kelce's growing business interests away from football. The Chiefs tight end has previously invested in Formula 1's Alpine team and developed commercial relationships with major brands such as American Eagle, Subway and State Farm.
His business profile has grown alongside his popularity as one of the NFL's most recognizable players. His relationship with Taylor Swift has also brought him an even larger audience outside professional football.
Now, his latest investment combines his growing business ambitions with something considerably more personal.
