Ruchita admitted that she had no idea about what the correct answer would be, and chose to opt for the Sanket Suchak lifeline. Even the clue given there did not help her in figuring out the answer, and so, she decided to quit. Ruchita walked away with Rs 50 lakh.
Upon quitting, she was asked to guess the correct answer and she chose Claude Jennings, which was wrong. The correct answer was Tommy Ward.
About the Rs 1 crore question presented to Ruchita Adhalrao
The question referred to a rare feat achieved by Australian bowler Jimmy Matthews, who took two hat-tricks in the same Test match , one in each innings, during Australia’s match against South Africa in the 1912 Triangular Tournament.

During the first innings, South Africa’s Tommy Ward faced Matthews’ hat-trick ball. It was the very first ball Ward faced in Test cricket. He was dismissed by Matthews, becoming the third victim in the bowler’s hat-trick.
Matthews then took another hat-trick in the second innings of the same Test. Ward once again became his third victim, meaning he was dismissed in both innings as part of Matthews’ hat-tricks.
This remains the only instance of a bowler taking two hat-tricks in the same Test match, while Ward holds the unique distinction referred to in the KBC question.
