Have proof of corruption in erstwhile DMK government, will reveal it when necessary: CM Vijay

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Wednesday (August 19, 2026) said in the Assembly he had evidence and proof of corruption in the previous DMK government and would reveal them when necessary.
Reacting to DMK MLAs who demanded evidence for the corruption charges and to School Education Minister Rajmohan, who had referred to corruption in the previous government, the Chief Minister said he had not actually wanted to say anything about the issue.

“But they are asking for evidence. One week ago, the Finance Minister said the files relating to the review of three departments were on his table. It was not just a casual remark. Everything is supported by evidence. Do not make me reveal them,” he said.
Mr. Vijay said he knew what to speak, how to speak, and when to speak to the people, and that they had elected the TVK with love and support.
“It is not as if I should not speak. I can speak. Some good things should happen at least in the bye-elections [to seven seats],” he added.
