Yoga guru and businessman Baba Ramdev has responded to BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut after she hit out at him over his criticism of her “gutter generation” remark targeting Gen Z.

Reacting to Kangana's remarks, Swami Ramdev said he did not want to escalate the matter and chose not to comment further on the actress.

“I don't want to escalate the matter. The country knows who is Swami Ramdev, what is my contribution, that is why I don't want to comment on such people,” he said in a post on X.

The latest exchange comes days after Ramdev criticised Kangana during an interview with TV9 over her remarks about Gen Z. He questioned her comments about the younger generation and said describing the country's youth as “gutter” reflected a “distorted mind”.

Ramdev had also questioned Kangana's past and said he did not wish to speak about “such people”. When he was told that Kangana follows his yoga practices and identifies herself as a Sanatani, he responded by asking whether praising his yoga meant he should “cover up their sins”.

Kangana subsequently responded sharply through an Instagram Story. In her note, she accused Ramdev of making assumptions about her personal life and said he should not lecture her about her character. She also referred to past Supreme Court criticism concerning alleged false or misleading claims about medical efficacy by Patanjali.

The latest remarks from Ramdev suggest that the yoga guru does not wish to take the public spat with Kangana any further.
