West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari targets 'Azadi' slogans, questions 'Red Salute Kishanji' writing on JU wall

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari criticized slogans demanding Azadi in Kolkata. He questioned the writing of 'Red Salute Kishanji' on Jadavpur University walls. Adhikari stated that such slogans and references are anti-national and weaken the country. He also raised objections to opposition towards the complete rendition of 'Vande Mataram'. The Chief Minister urged for the removal of internal threats on Raksha Bandhan.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday targeted those raising 'Azadi' slogans and questioned the writing of 'Red Salute Kishanji' on the walls of Jadavpur University.



Addressing a Raksha Bandhan programme at his Bhabanipur assembly constituency in south Kolkata, Adhikari spoke about patriotism, the state's contribution to the freedom struggle and the sacrifices of freedom fighters.



He also raised the issue of what he described as attempts to weaken the country from within.
