Mira-Bhayander :- Thane Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested two individuals from the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation on charges of accepting a bribe. The accused are:
- Nilesh Krishna Rathod, aged 34, Multi-purpose Health Employee, Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, Bhayander, Thane District.
- Dr. Virappa Tippanna Dudhbhate, Health Officer, Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, Bhayander, Thane District.
According to the complaint, the complainant sought a pathology lab license to start a pathology business in Mira Road. Accused No. 1, Nilesh Rathod, demanded a bribe of ₹5000 from the complainant to get the work done by Accused No. 2, Dr. Virappa Tipanna Dudhbhate.
Upon verifying the complaint on August 2, 2024, the Anti-Corruption Bureau found that Nilesh Rathod had agreed to settle for a reduced amount of ₹4000. Rathod accepted the ₹4000 bribe from the complainant and handed it over to Dr. Virappa Tipanna Dudhbhate. Both were caught red-handed while exchanging the bribe.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
