Palghar :- In a fitting tribute to the ideals of independence and nation-building, the Palghar Panchayat Samiti organized the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ festival on October 13, 2023, as part of the ‘My Soil, My Country’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate the Amrit Mahotsav of India’s independence.
Under this campaign, initiated by the Central Government, the Palghar Panchayat Samiti, in collaboration with all the gram panchayats in the taluka, embarked on a journey with urns filled with sacred soil from every village. These urns, symbolizing the collective spirit of the nation, were carried from the Ambamata Temple in Palghar to the Palghar Panchayat Samiti, covering all the talukas in the district.
The event was graced by the presence of Prakash Nikam, the President of the Palghar Zilla Parishad, Rajendra Gaavit, a respected leader, Shrinivas Vanga, MLA, Bhanudas Palve, Chief Executive Officer, Balasaheb Patil, Superintendent of Police, Shaila Kolekar, President of the Panchayat Samiti, Milind Wade, Vice President, and other prominent officials.
The essence of this campaign is to collect soil from villages, symbolizing the journey from the village level to the district, state, and finally, to Delhi. The collected soil will be used in the construction of ‘Amrit Vatika,’ and it will be a part of a massive tree-planting initiative. This campaign is a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to unite the nation from the grassroots to the national level.
Rajendra Gaavit, a respected leader, delivered a heartfelt message, highlighting the importance of the soil as a representation of our motherland. He urged everyone to treat this sacred soil with respect and devotion, emphasizing the need to protect our land and culture.
The event was meticulously organized under the guidance of Narendra Revandkar, the Group Development Officer. Chandrashekhar Jagtap, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of the revenue and police departments in enhancing the program’s success.
