Special Cleanliness Campaign Enters its Second Day in Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation

Mira Bhayandar :- The Swachh Bharat Mission 2023, a nationwide cleanliness drive, entered its second day on October 17, 2023, in Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. In the presence of Municipal Commissioner Sanjay Shripatrav Katkar, this special cleanliness campaign aims to transform the city into a pristine and litter-free environment.

Under this mission, the city has been divided into two groups, each led by senior officials. The first group, led by Additional Municipal Commissioner Aniket Manorikar, focused on New Golden Nest, Bandarwadi, and Bhayandar Railway Station premises. The second group, guided by Additional Municipal Commissioner Sambhaji Panpatte, concentrated on Goddev and Phatak areas.

Several prominent officials, including Upayukta Sanjay Shinde, Upayukta Ravi Pawar, City Engineer Dipak Khambit, Deputy Engineer Nitin Mukane, and Prabhag No. 3 Officer Jitendra Kamble, along with hundreds of employees from various departments, actively participated in this initiative.

Activities carried out during this campaign include direct cleaning by department heads, removal of stickers, seizure of illegal plastic items, toilet cleanliness, cleaning of memorials and statues, and repairing damaged fences. The efforts began at 7:00 AM and continued until 1:00 PM, with enthusiastic participation from the citizens.

This campaign has not only improved the cleanliness of the city but also led to significant fines being imposed. For instance, 28 kilograms of illegal plastic items were confiscated, resulting in fines totaling ₹95,000. Additionally, a fine of ₹9,550 was levied for dumping garbage in public areas. The campaign also involved the removal of debris from the streets and unauthorized banner placements.

The Special Cleanliness Campaign will continue until October 27, 2023, with a call for increased citizen participation. Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Sanjay Shripatrav Katkar encouraged citizens to actively contribute to the city’s cleanliness and beautification.

This city-wide initiative has successfully collected approximately 43,000 kilograms of waste, demonstrating the power of collective efforts in making Mira Bhayandar a cleaner and more beautiful place to live.
