ANINew York: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has stepped up his engagement with global business leaders during his visit to the United States, holding a series of meetings with senior executives from leading investment, financial services and consumer companies to explore opportunities for deeper investment and partnerships with India.
Goyal held meetings with senior representatives of Blackstone, Neuberger Berman and The Estee Lauder Companies, with discussions spanning investment opportunities, financial and wealth management, manufacturing, sourcing and India's growing beauty and personal care market.
During his meeting with Blackstone President and COO Jonathan Grey and Prakash Melwani, Chairman of Blackstone's International Private Equity business, Goyal discussed ways to deepen the company's investment and partnership with India.
"Held a productive meeting with Mr. George Walker, Chairman & CEO of Neuberger Berman, along with Mr. Anthony Tutrone, Global Head of Neuberger Markets; Mr. Andrew Komaroff, COO; and Mr. Zain Naqi, Managing Director. Discussed opportunities to deepen investment linkages with India and strengthen partnerships across financial and wealth management. With resilient macroeconomic fundamentals and deepening capital markets, India offers unmatched scale and long-term value creation for global institutional investors," Goyal said in another post.

The Commerce and Industry Minister also met Stephane de La Faverie, President and CEO of The Estee Lauder Companies, in New York, with the discussion centred on expanding the company's presence in India.
Goyal said the talks covered greater manufacturing and sourcing from India, as well as opportunities linked to the country's growing beauty and personal care market.
"Held a meeting with Mr. Stephane de La Faverie, President & CEO of The Estee Lauder Companies in New York. Discussed opportunities for the company to further strengthen its presence in India through greater manufacturing, sourcing from India & leveraging the country's growing beauty & personal care market," he said.
The engagements are part of Goyal's visit to the US, during which he attended the G20 Trade Ministers' Meeting.
His meetings with global investors and business leaders come as part of his engagements in the US, with discussions focused on expanding investment linkages, strengthening partnerships and exploring opportunities for greater business engagement with India.
