CCI approves JSW internal restructuring, three more deals
Synopsis

The Competition Commission of India approved four deals on Tuesday in highways, hospitality, steel, and pharmaceuticals. JSW Group's restructuring gained approval, merging BMM Ispat into JSW Steel for full ownership. Canada's CPP Investment Board can acquire a stake in Prestige Hospitality Ventures, but specifics were not disclosed.

The Competition Commission of India approved four deals spanning highways, hospitality, steel, and pharmaceuticals Tuesday. JSW Group's internal restructuring got the competition regulator’s nod. BMM Ispat, which runs an integrated steel plant of about one million tonnes a year in Karnataka, will be merged into JSW Steel. The group already holds 58.47 per cent in BMM and is moving to full ownership.

Canada's CPP Investment Board can acquire a shareholding in Prestige Hospitality Ventures, the Prestige group's hotel and serviced-apartment developer. The size of the stake was not disclosed. Bain Capital-linked entities got approval for sole control of Omega-Meyer, which sells Vitabiotics supplements, and Meyer Organics. Both are in nutraceuticals, and Meyer Organics also has some pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply in India.

French firm Concessoc 41, ultimately controlled by VINCI, can buy Vishavari Tollway and nine road companies from funds managed by MAIF. The nine run national highway stretches in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Gujarat.
