Jeevan Pramaan, or Digital Life Certificate (DLC), submission for pensioners begins in phases. For this year, the process for many pensioners began on October 1, 2026. They can submit their DLC till November 30, 2026, unless the government extends the submission deadline. But can all pensioners submit their Jeevan Pramaan from October 1, or is the opportunity available for only a few?

Can all senior pensioners submit their Jeevan Pramaan (DLC) from October 1, 2026?

No, not all senior pensioners can submit their life certificate from October 1. Only senior pensioners aged 80 and above can submit their DLC from October 1.

In a tweet, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has advised eligible senior pensioners to submit their life certificate early. Pensioners do not necessarily have to visit a bank branch for this. They can use options such as face authentication, biometric authentication, and doorstep banking to submit their life certificate online. Or, they can also submit the certificate physically at a bank branch.

PNB has informed its customers that they can submit the life certificate through various modes such as face authentication, biometric authentication, doorstep banking, and by visiting a bank branch.

Available submission modes for life certificate submission:

Face authentication: Can submit digitally using a smartphone via face scan.
Biometric authentication: Can submit using fingerprint or iris scanning devices.
Doorstep banking services (DSB): Request a bank representative to collect the certificate at home.
Physical mode: Visit any bank branch directly to submit the life certificate in person.

What is Jeevan Pramaan (DLC)?

Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled Digital Life Certificate (DLC) scheme introduced by the Government of India for pensioners.

To submit Jeevan Pramaan, you must ensure you have the following information ready:

An active Aadhaar Number linked to your pension bank account.
A Pension Payment Order (PPO) number.
Details of your Pension Disbursing Agency (e.g., bank name, post office branch).
An active mobile number to receive registration one-time passwords (OTPs) and confirmation alerts.

Is Electronic Jeevan Pramaan, i.e., DLC, a must for the pensioner?

Electronic Jeevan Pramaan, i.e, DLC, is an add-on facility to the already existing ways of the submission of life certificate. Through this facility, pensioners can submit their life certificate sitting at home.

Is DLC submission a valid way?

Yes, the DLC is a valid certificate and recognised under the IT Act. The system benefits the pensioner by not having to go before the PDA to prove that he/she is alive.

6 simple steps to submit DLC using face authentication

Step1: Use any Android smartphone with a 5MP front camera and internet

Step 2: Keep the Aadhaar number registered with the pension disbursing authority (bank, post office, other) ready.

Step 3: Download and install ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from Google Store.

Step 4: Carry out operator authentication and scan the face of the operator.

Step 5: Fill in pensioner details.

Step 6: Submit after capturing a photograph from the front camera.

SMS with a link to download Jeevan Pramaan will be sent to the mobile number.

Note that Aadhaar number or VID (virtual identification number) is a must for generating/obtaining Jeevan Pramaan, i.e., DLC.
