PTICockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has invoked Mahatma Gandhi, Dr BR Ambedkar and former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru while taking a swipe at the Centre amid his party’s ongoing protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
In a video shared on Saturday, Dipke described the three leaders as representing different pillars of India’s political and social legacy. He called Gandhi the “SOUL of India”, Ambedkar the “BACKBONE of India” and Nehru the “MIND of India”.
“You can never become like them,” Dipke said.

Abhijeet Dipke invokes Gandhi, Ambedkar and Nehru
Dipke’s remarks came a day after the CJP organised a protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities linked to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The protest was held on October 2, which marked Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. The stage featured quotations attributed to Gandhi on non-violence and simplicity, along with tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar.
Mumbai Police register FIR over Shivaji Park protest
Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against the protest organisers and around 400-500 unidentified people in connection with the gathering at Shivaji Park.
According to a Shivaji Park police station official, the case was registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Police Act. The allegations include unlawful assembly and wilful disobedience of a lawful order issued by a public servant, among other offences.
The FIR followed a complaint filed by a resident of the Shivaji Park area, the official said.
Dipke announces Delhi protest over Gyanesh Kumar
Dipke also announced another protest in Delhi if Gyanesh Kumar does not resign.
“If Gyanesh Kumar doesn't resign, cockroaches from across India will march to Delhi & protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10,” he said in a post on X.
He said the proposed protest would be peaceful and appealed to citizens who want free and fair elections to participate.
The CJP has been demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner over its allegations concerning the electoral roll revision. The Election Commission has maintained that the electoral roll revision process is being carried out under the prescribed rules.
