Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other leaders from the State on Monday (September 14, 2026) greeted the people on Hindi Diwas, noting that Hindi was a powerful expression of India's cultural consciousness and national unity.

Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on September 14 to mark the adoption of Hindi as an official language by the Constituent Assembly on September 14, 1949.

In a post on X in Hindi, Mr. Adityanath said, "Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Hindi enthusiasts and residents of the state on Hindi Diwas. Hindi is a powerful expression of our cultural consciousness, national unity, and Indian identity. Let us all come together and resolve to honour, promote, and widely use the Hindi language." Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also extended greetings on the occasion.

"On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, let us resolve to honour, promote, and use our official language Hindi more and more. By spreading the simplicity, richness, and vastness of Hindi to every individual, we can further strengthen our linguistic and cultural heritage," Mr. Maurya said.

Mr. Pathak said Hindi, which binds the nation together in the thread of unity, is not just a language but an expression of feelings.

"Heartfelt greetings to all countrymen and state residents on Hindi, our official language that weaves together the nation's diversity, culture, civilization, and values into one thread, on Hindi Diwas," he said.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also wished the people on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.

The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Congress in a post on X, said, "Hindi is not just a language, but the identity of our culture, values, emotions, and self-respect. Let us not limit Hindi to mere conversation, but make it the pride of our thoughts, behaviour, and expression. Respect for Hindi is respect for the nation. Pride in Hindi is pride in India."
