The Vidyanagar police have registered a case against three people, including two brothers, for allegedly assaulting a 23-year-old woman with a glass and forcibly taking her away in a car at Nayanmar Moola in Chengla village in Kasaragod.

The alleged incident occurred around 10.30 p.m. on September 4 at a juice shop. The police said there was a delay in filing the complaint as the complainant was undergoing treatment.

According to the complaint, the accused arrived in a car and confronted her while she was having juice. The first accused, identified as Sabid, allegedly hit the woman on the head with a glass, while the second accused, Thahir, reportedly assaulted her. The two, along with a third unidentified person, then reportedly forced her into the car and took her away.

According to the police, the attack was motivated by previous animosity. The woman had earlier filed a POCSO case against Sabid, and the police suspect that the accused attacked her as she had refused to withdraw the case.

The police have registered a case against all three accused under Sections 126(2), 127(2),115(2),118(1), 137(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
