    Need to remove 3.73 lakh acres private lands from prohibited properties list: Sambasiva Rao

    CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said that there is a need for the government to remove the 3.73 lakh acres of private lands from the prohibited properties list, and communicate the same to people. He urged the government to gather details on the Nizam’s lands in Hyderabad, Bhoodan lands, area under lakes and ponds. The MLA said that if assigned lands were acquired by the affluent, the properties have to be recovered so that the poor will benefit. Farmers were ousted for the Sri Ram Sagar Project, Nagarjunsagar and other irrigation projects over Godavari. He said that a forensic audit has to be taken up to check if the lands were used for projects or taken over by contractors.

    Issue pertains to 3,73,930 acres of private lands in prohibited properties list: CPI MLA

    CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said that there are a total of 2,49,76,000 acres of land in Telangana. The forest lands (42,61,532 acres), assigned lands, government lands (including schools and roads), Part-B and private lands account for around 90,000 acres.

    The MLA said that while a narrative is being built that one crore acres are put under the prohibited properties list, the issue is pertaining to 3,73,930 acres of private land in the list. There cannot be any changes in the extent of forest land or assigned land. The only change can be in the extent of private lands.

    Mr. Rao said that he is not supporting the government but stating so that people will not have misconceptions.

    BJP MLA seeks action on findings of forensic audit

    BJP Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy cited findings of the forensic audit mentioned in the House and asked on whose names 23 lakh acres were transferred through 13,000 transactions and what action will be taken on it. He asked the government when it will take over the lands.

    Factory can be set up if oil palm is harvested over 10,000 acres: Telangana Agriculture Minister

    Responding to the requests and questions raised by MLAs on oil palm cultivation, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that a factory (refinery) can be set up if oil palm is harvested over 10,000 acres. Stating that some MLAs too have taken up the cultivation, the Minister said that factories will be established if the crop is cultivated over 10,000 acres. Farmers do not face issues from monkeys, marketing or export of the crop. 

    Currently, six factories are working and construction of 14 factories is underway. Each can be set up in a span of six months. 

    Responding to the request for MSP, he said that the State requested the Centre to announce it.
