The SRP-1 Incline Mine of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Srirampur of Mancherial district celebrated its golden jubilee on Wednesday.
The golden jubilee celebrations were marked by the unveiling of a commemorative pylon and other programmes at the mine, which has maintained a consistent record of coal production over the decades.
SCCL Director (Projects and Planning) K. Venkateshwarlu and AITUC-affiliated Singareni Collieries Workers union (SCWU) president Vasireddy Seetharamaiah were among those who attended the celebrations.
Speakers recalled the underground mine’s history and highlighted its key achievements, including securing a five-star rating for 2018-2019 in the assessment conducted by the Union Ministry of Coal. The mine also achieved 200% of its targeted coal production in 2023, they said.
They stressed the need to reduce the cost of coal production while maintaining quality and productivity. They also called for sustained efforts to enhance production and improve coal quality.
