in School Science Festival ‘Avishkar’ and Maths Olympiad 2026 (Ramanujan Spark Quest) received overwhelming response with over 400 students participating in the event in Hubballi on Saturday.

The event held at Hebsur Bhavan in Hubballi and was organised by in association with Excellent Moodubidire. It witnessed innovative science models and projects designed and displayed by students from schools across the region, mainly from Hubballi-Dharwad.

Inaugurating the event, former MLA of Kundgol Mallikarjun Akki called on the students to prepare themselves for the competition by equipping themselves with required skills. Terming as most trusted newspaper, he lauded the newspaper’s initiative in organising the event.

Giving away the prizes, managing director of Swarnaa Group of Companies Ch.V.S.V. Prasad said that a sharp mind would give one a beautiful life as it would help them in solving so many problems in life.

He said that more than winning, participating in an event and understanding one’s capabilities was important as it would help one to correct themselves and focus their efforts in the right direction.

Thejas P. Mangalore and Yash A. Thakur, class X students from J.K. English Medium School, Hubballi, and Jayanth R. Deshpande and Atharva Phadnis, class VIII students from Bhavadeepa English Medium School, Hubballi, bagged the first prizes in Senior and Junior categories respectively.

In the senior category, Mohammed Faiz Govinkoppa and Sheesh Bijapur of KLE MR Sakhare CBSE School, Hubballi, bagged the second prize and M.D. Yash Badami and Mustqeem M. Khazi of DK Public School, Hubballi, bagged the third prize.

In the Junior category, Divyanshi B. Sharma and Hifza M. Kolachi of St. Paul’s School bagged the second prize and Vikas Nagesh Mamadi and Sayyed Ali K. Makandar of St. Paul’s English Medium School bagged the third prize.
