In a move that mirrors his high-stakes political manoeuvre, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is preparing to take the political battle straight to the home turf of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on September 30.

The visit to Sircilla, a BRS bastion held by Mr. Rao since 2009, features a public rally alongside a planned procession through the town, culminating in a public meeting near the Ragudu bypass. This is his first visit as the Chief Minister.

The visit comes at a time when Mr. Rao has intensified his criticism of the ruling Congress government on State administration, delayed welfare guarantees, and local development issues.

Apart from the political angle, the Chief Minister will launch and lay foundation for development works worth ₹345.78 crore. Among the major projects to be taken up is the proposed Nethanna Bazaar in Sircilla to provide marketing facilities for handloom and powerloom products. The government has proposed the facility particularly to help market petticoat and polyester fabrics produced on looms in Sircilla.

Mr. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation for Young India Integrated Residential Schools in Sircilla and Vemulawada at a cost of ₹200 crore. The proposed educational complex at Peddur, spread over 18 acres, will accommodate about 2,600 students from Classes V to XII. It will have 64 classrooms, dormitories, a dining block and sports facilities. Telangana Public Schools will also be established at Sircilla and Konaraopet.

At Vemulawada, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation for 26 works costing ₹99.40 crore as part of the development of the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple.

Foundation stones will also be laid for seven government office buildings, including RDO offices at Sircilla and Vemulawada, tahsildar offices at Tangallapalli, Veernapalli, Vemulawada Rural and Rudrangi, and a sub-registrar office at Vemulawada.

A 10,000-metric-tonne-capacity warehouse and allied units will be taken up at Rudrangi to facilitate storage of agricultural produce. The visit will also see the launch of arrangements for a women's police station at Vemulawada and two traffic police stations, one each in Vemulawada and Sircilla.
