Roll with it: Oasis announce 38-date 'Live '27' world tour, with a fairer ticket system this time
Synopsis
Oasis will embark on a 38-date world tour in 2027. This extensive tour follows their successful 2025 reunion performances. A new registration system aims to prevent ticketing chaos experienced previously. Fans must register for a chance to purchase tickets for the shows. The band will perform across Britain, Europe, and the United States.
ReutersOasis, the defining rock band of the 1990s Britpop era, announced a 38-date tour for 2027 spanning Britain, Ireland, mainland Europe and the United States on Monday, Reuters reported.
Billed as "Live '27," the run marks the band's first major tour since their blockbuster 2025 reunion, and comes with a reworked ticketing process designed to avoid a repeat of the chaos that marred that comeback.
A new ticketing system after 2025's fiasco
To avoid a repeat of the ticketing fiasco that accompanied the Gallagher brothers' first comeback in 2025, fans will have to register for a chance to buy tickets rather than compete in an open general sale, Reuters reported.
Registration closes on Thursday, September 17, and successful applicants will be sent a unique, non-transferable code granting access to a specific on-sale window, with the UK sale spread across three separate windows a day on September 25, 26 and 27.
Even members of Oasis's own mailing list must register, and there will be no general public sale outside this process. Standard ticket prices will be fixed and range between £71.50 ($96.50) and £266.60, including fees, promoters said.
The new approach follows sharp criticism of the general sale for the band's 2025 reunion tour, when dynamic pricing caused ticket costs to jump while fans queued, and roughly 14 million people submitted requests for just 1.4 million tickets across the 17 shows on sale at the time, according to concert industry data.
Oasis said at the time that ticketing and pricing decisions were left entirely to their promoters and management, and that they had not known dynamic pricing would be used.
In a statement, Oasis said, "Start the celebrations," adding they would "once again return to lift the spirits of the people." "Come witness the fitness," the statement continued. "It shall be a sight to behold."
Where and when they will play
The band will start Live '27 with five shows in Glasgow in May, before moving to Manchester, their home city in northern England, for 11 dates at the Etihad Stadium, Reuters reported. Dates in Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Boston and Las Vegas follow, along with a stop at Slane Castle in Ireland, before Oasis close the tour with four shows in Knebworth, southern England, in September, the site of two legendary 1996 concerts where the band played to a combined 250,000 fans.
Oasis were the biggest guitar band of the 1990s, according to Reuters. Their 1994 debut album, "Definitely Maybe," was an instant hit, and its follow-up, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?", went on to become the decade's biggest-selling record, powered by hits including "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger." Tension between Noel Gallagher, the band's main songwriter, and his younger brother, lead singer Liam, led to the band's split in 2009.
From breakup to blockbuster reunion
News in 2024 that the brothers were reuniting sparked a frenzy for tickets, with thousands of fans enduring hours in online queues only to find prices had risen by the time they reached the front of the line, Reuters reported.
Despite the rocky start, the band's return to the stage in Cardiff in 2025 delighted both fans and critics, who said the group sounded as strong as it ever had.
The reunion tour ultimately grew into a 41-date run across 14 countries, drawing a combined attendance of roughly 2.89 million fans and generating an estimated $525.3 million at the box office, with support from acts including Cage the Elephant and Richard Ashcroft.
A documentary chronicling the reunion, titled "Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger," premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month.
