Lions District 3231-A3 achieved a significant milestone on Saturday with the 100th inauguration of a Tata Swach Clean Drinking Water Machine at New Modern English High School, Naigaon. The initiative, conceived and launched by Manoj Babur, District Governor 2025–26, commenced on 3 December 2025 and has become one of the District’s flagship humanitarian projects.

In less than ten months, the project has reached some of the most remote areas of Palghar District, including Palghar, Dahanu, Talasari, Jawhar, Mokhada and Vikramgad. The machines have primarily been installed in *Zilla Parishad schools and Ashram Shalas, providing children with access to safe drinking water.

With 100 machines inaugurated, the initiative is estimated to benefit approximately 51,000 students, based on an average of 510 students per school. Today’s installation will benefit approximately 650 students.

The initiative received tremendous support from the Lions fraternity, with 75 clubs coming forward to participate. The District has set a final target of 143 machines.

The 100th inauguration was hosted by Lions Club of Bombay Willingdon Crescent and Lions Club of Bombay Malad Marve, with 35 Lions members participating. Natwar Banka, District Governor 26-27, inaugurated the 100th machine. Vikas K. Saraf, 1st VDG, and Sunil Lavti, 2nd VDG, were Guests of Honour. PMCC C. S. Ghag and PDG Surendranath Vukadalla were also present.

From 3 December 2025 to the 100th inauguration, the journey continues towards 143—bringing clean water, better health and renewed hope to thousands of children.
