Jaishankar meets Prince Rahim Aga Khan V

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday (September 10, 2026) said he met Prince Rahim Aga Khan V and discussed the “impactful work” in social development and heritage preservation by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKND) and explored further opportunities.
Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, 50th Imam of the Ismaili Muslims, began his India visit on September 9 following an invitation from Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan.
He will be in India until September 15.
“Pleased to meet His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V. Discussed the impactful work in social development & heritage preservation by the Aga Khan Development Network @akdn, and further opportunities in India and abroad,” Mr. Jaishankar posted on X.

AKDN is a global non-profit organisation currently headed by Prince Rahim Aga Khan V. It has been working in areas, including education, culture, agriculture and food security, and economic development and finance, according to its official website.
Earlier, Prince Rahim Aga Khan V called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
He also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (September 10, 2026).
PM Modi and Prince Rahi Aga Khan discussed India’s partnership with the AKDN in agriculture and rural development, among other areas.
This is his first visit to India since his accession as the 50th Imam of the Ismaili community.
