New Zealand Cricket's upcoming marquee series against India, beginning in late October, has already set the cash registers ringing, with the governing body confirming that more than 50,000 tickets have been sold since sales opened a little over two weeks ago.
India, widely regarded as the most commercially valuable team in world cricket, will return to New Zealand after a gap of six years for a tour comprising five T20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals and two Test matches.

According to a New Zealand Cricket press release, public ticket sales opened on Monday following a two-week pre-sale period for Cricket Nation members, Sky customers and ANZ customers. Several matches are already on course to sell out, with the second T20I against India in Christchurch currently 75% sold.
Strong demand at Eden Park has also prompted the stadium to open its sixth tier of seating for the first time since India's 2019 tour of New Zealand. The upper level will be available for the fourth T20I against India, scheduled for Friday, October 30.
New Zealand Cricket's Head of Marketing Tim Ellis said interest in the tour was continuing to build.
“Being able to open up the top level of Eden Park for the first time in years is really exciting and speaks to the swell of excitement building around the tour. Matches at Hagley Oval have always been well attended but to have one of them over three quarters sold already is quite remarkable,” Ellis said in the release.
He added that New Zealand Cricket was also well advanced in planning events around the tour and was working on several in-stadium activations aimed at enhancing the experience for fans across age groups.
