India will look to build on its opening-day haul at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday, with shooting, traditional martial arts and several team events offering opportunities to add to its medal tally.

India began its campaign with two silver medals in shooting on Sunday and will have another strong chance on Day 2, with Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane and Rudrankksh Patil competing in the men’s 10m air rifle.

The trio will take part in the qualification round, which also counts towards the team competition. The team final is scheduled for 6:15 a.m. IST, while the individual final is set for 9 a.m., subject to qualification.

Suchika Tariyal will also be assured of a medal when she takes on Singapore’s Teo Hui Hoon in the women’s traditional 60kg semifinal at 8 a.m. Suchika booked her place in the last four with a quarterfinal victory over Mongolia’s Altanchimeg Baigalmaa on Sunday. A win would take the Indian into the final and give her a shot at gold.

India will also begin its campaign in skeet, with Mairaj Khan, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Bhavtegh Singh Gill competing in the men’s individual and team events. Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan will represent India in the women’s skeet competition.

India will face Pakistan in both table tennis team events. The women’s team will play its Group F match at 6:15 a.m., followed by the men’s encounter at 3:30 p.m.
