Kapil Sibal embraces ‘Dimagi Naxal’ label, calls horse trading a constitutional crisis
Synopsis
Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal declared himself a 'Dimagi Naxal' during a recent talk. He explained that horse trading has evolved from sellers tricking buyers to buyers now being the tricksters. This practice is not merely a scandal but a significant constitutional crisis. It undermines representative government and the integrity of the public's vote. The result is that power is delivered to a different mandate than what citizens chose.
ANIKochi: Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Sunday said that he was a 'Dimagi Naxal', a term coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and used by the BJP to attack those they accuse of being ideological sympathisers of Naxalism.
Sibal referred to himself as a 'Dimagi Naxal' while speaking at a talk here on 'Horse Trade and Democracy'.
"I have to make a confession. I am a 'Dimagi Naxal'," he said while beginning his speech.
