Coast Guard rescues 7 crew members from damaged boat off Kutch coast
Synopsis

Seven crew members were rescued by the Indian Coast Guard from a distressed boat off Jakhau coast. The boat, IFB Parameshwari, suffered hull damage which caused flooding in its engine compartment. The rescue operation took place after a distress call was received on Friday. Coast Guard ship Apoorva bravely navigated through adverse weather conditions during the operation. All seven crew members were brought safely to Jakhau harbour in stable condition.

Ahmedabad, The Indian Coast Guard rescued seven crew members from a damaged boat off Jakhau coast of Kutch district, it said on Saturday.



The rescue operation took place on Friday and the crew was brought to Jakhau harbour in Gujarat on Saturday in stable condition, the ICG said in a post on X.

Coast Guard ship 'Apoorva' responded to a distress call from IFB Parameshwari, located 32 NM west off Jakhau, as the latter had suffered hull damage and its engine compartment was flooding.

Battling adverse weather, the ICG team safely rescued all seven crew members, it added.
