Central Railway Earns Rs. 58.15 Crores Non-Fare Revenue up to August 2026

13.67% growth over last year; 36 contracts awarded through e-auction in August

Central Railway has earned Rs.58.15 crores as Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) up to August 2026, registering a 13.67% growth over Rs 51.16 crores earned during the corresponding period last year. The growth has been achieved through innovative utilisation of railway assets, advertising opportunities, passenger-oriented services and other Non-Fare Revenue initiatives.
During August 2026, 36 contracts were awarded through e-auction, generating a total Annual License Fee of Rs 324.03 lakh.
Division wise details
Mumbai Division contributed through several advertising and passenger-oriented initiatives, including Out Of Home advertising sites between Kaman Road and Juchandra, advertising rights at Chinchpokli, Neral, Thakurli, Atgaon, Masjid and Dockyard Road stations, and a “Porter on Call” service at Panvel. A vending contract for suburban trains on the Kalyan–Karjat/Khopoli and Kalyan–Kasara sections was awarded for Rs 40.11 lakh per annum.

Bhusawal Division awarded contracts including advertising through audio systems in 13 MEMU rakes, two-wheeler packing at Akola, passenger dormitory and retiring room facilities, grocery kiosk and Digi Locker services.
Pune Division awarded an Out Of Home advertising contract at Juna Bazaar Chowk for Rs 36 lakh per annum.
Solapur Division recorded several significant NFR initiatives, including Rs 100 lakh per annum from cleaning of empty BOXN/BOXNHL rakes/wagons at Wadi Yard, Rs 36 lakh per annum from non-digital advertising at Sainagar Shirdi, and various digital advertising, kiosk, Digital Locker and mobile charging facilities at Solapur and Pandharpur stations.
Nagpur Division also generated NFR through contracts for mobile food vans, miscellaneous vending in trains, Digital Locker facilities and staff canteen services.
Central Railway continues to explore innovative avenues for diversifying revenue, optimising utilisation of railway assets and providing additional passenger-oriented facilities, with e-auction ensuring a transparent and competitive process for awarding NFR contracts.
