Synopsis
Delhi traffic news: Delhi Traffic Police announced extensive diversions and traffic regulations for Sunday. More than thirty-five roads will see regulated vehicular movement across central and south Delhi. Key areas like Connaught Place and Bharat Mandapam will experience significant traffic restrictions. Vehicles heading towards East and South Delhi will face diversions via BSZ Marg and IP Marg. Commercial vehicles will be rerouted away from specific central Delhi points.

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory announcing diversions at 22 points and regulating vehicular movement on more than 35 roads on Sunday, the final day of the three-day BRICS summit at Bharat Mandapam.
Roads affected
Several important roads in central and south Delhi will be affected, including Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Tees January Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Moti Lal Nehru Marg, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh Marg, Satya Marg, Shanti Path, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Ranjeet Singh Flyover, Niti Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Kemal Ataturk Marg and APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
Other affected roads include Mathura Road, Africa Avenue Road, Press Enclave Road, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Josef Broz Tito Marg and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg.
Mathura Road and central Delhi diversions
At Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk, traffic on Mathura Road and Tilak Marg will be regulated. Vehicles headed towards East and South Delhi will be diverted through BSZ Marg and IP Marg, while those travelling towards New Delhi and Connaught Place will be diverted via Sikandara Road.
Commercial vehicles beyond Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk towards W-Point will not be allowed and will be diverted towards IP Marg, DDU Marg or BSZ Marg, depending on their destination.
Connaught Place and Patel Chowk
Traffic restrictions will also be enforced around Connaught Place, Patel Chowk and the RML Hospital area. Vehicles approaching C-Hexagon from the Outer Circle of Connaught Place through Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Janpath will be diverted through alternative roads.
South Delhi and Bharat Mandapam
In south Delhi, restrictions have been planned at multiple points around Lodhi Road, including its intersections with Amrita Shergil Marg, Max Mueller Marg, Maharishi Raman Marg and Arch Bishop Macarius Marg.
Traffic approaching Bharat Mandapam from Mathura Road will be diverted at points under the Lodhi and Oberoi flyovers. Traffic will be routed towards Lodhi Road, Neela Gumbad and other connecting roads, while vehicles bound for the Oberoi Hotel and Golf Link will be permitted at the specified point.

Commercial vehicle restrictions
Commercial vehicles beyond Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk towards W-Point will not be allowed and will be diverted towards IP Marg, DDU Marg or BSZ Marg, depending on their destination.
Bharat Mandapam routes
Traffic approaching Bharat Mandapam from Mathura Road will be diverted at points under the Lodhi and Oberoi flyovers. Traffic will be routed towards Lodhi Road, Neela Gumbad and other connecting roads, while vehicles bound for the Oberoi Hotel and Golf Link will be permitted at the specified point.
Railway stations and airport travel
The advisory has also laid down alternate routes for commuters travelling to New Delhi, Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations. Traffic police have strongly recommended taking the Metro for airport travel.
Metro, buses and taxis
Metro will remain fully operational at all stations, while bus routes may be diverted during VVIP movements. Taxis and autorickshaws will be required to avoid roadside parking except at designated locations.
Emergency and essential services
Emergency and medical vehicles will be given priority and obstruction-free passage across Delhi. Essential services and utility operations will have uninterrupted access.
Advisory for commuters
Traffic police have advised commuters to allow extra travel time while heading towards airports, railway stations and ISBTs, use public transport and follow designated diversion routes.
Non-destined commercial vehicles will not be permitted to enter Delhi, while roadside parking within 200 metres of controlled roads has been prohibited.
The public has been urged to stay updated through official Delhi Traffic Police channels and cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth traffic movement and safety during the summit.
