US President Donald Trump on Monday intensified his criticism of Canada amid a tariff row between the two countries, saying he would “not treat Canada like a State anymore.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Canada had been “ripping off” the US, while slamming their “ridiculously high tariffs” on America's farmers and farm products.

“Their ridiculously high tariffs on our Farmers and farm products has made life impossible for these great American Patriots, and has long created a 60 Billion Dollar Deficit between our two Countries,” Trump said in his post.
