Telangana employees’ joint action committee announces agitation from September 1 for PRC, DA, OPS

The Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) has announced a series of agitation programmes in September demanding implementation of the pending Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and Dearness Allowance (DA) benefits and scrapping of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in favour of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
The decision was taken at a meeting of the constituent employee associations of the Telangana Employees’ JAC held on Saturday (August 29, 2026). The participants discussed the pending demands and problems faced by employees and chalked out a future course of action.
JAC chairman V. Lachchi Reddy and secretary-general Vodnala Rajasekhar later announced the decisions taken at the meeting. As part of the agitation, the JAC has decided to observe September 1 as ‘CPS Virodha Dinam’ across the State. Employees have been asked to wear black badges and stage protests in front of government offices during the afternoon.
The JAC demanded that the State government immediately scrap the CPS and restore the OPS for employees. The JAC has also announced a ‘Chalo Hyderabad – Employees’ Sankalpa Sabha’ on September 6 at the Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad. The meeting will focus on securing the pending PRC and DA benefits for government employees.
