Tejas Networks bags Rs 1,537 crore BSNL 4G order from TCS
Synopsis
Tejas Networks secured a Rs 1,537 crore letter of intent from Tata Consultancy Services. This order is for supplying equipment for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd's 4G mobile network. TCS had previously won a Rs 2,903 crore add-on purchase order from BSNL. This new order supports BSNL's indigenous 4G network rollout plans. The agreement will help expand BSNL's network footprint across India.

Tejas Networks on Thursday said it has received a Letter of Intent worth Rs 1,537 crore from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for supplying Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment, accessories and installation materials for 18,685 sites of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd's 4G mobile network.
The order covers the supply of RAN equipment and related materials for the sites under an add-on purchase order that TCS has secured from BSNL, according to separate regulatory filings by the companies.

TCS, back in May 2025, said that it had secured a Rs 2,903.22 crore add-on purchase order from BSNL for the deployment of the 18,685 4G network sites. Under the order, TCS will handle planning, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and annual maintenance of the sites.
The latest order builds on the companies' involvement in BSNL's indigenous 4G rollout. TCS, along with the government's Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), had won the Rs 15,000 crore mega contract from BSNL in May 2023 as part of the state-owned telecom operator's plan to deploy an end-to-end indigenous 4G network.
The project was designed to reduce BSNL's dependence on global equipment providers such as Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei. The original contract had a 24-month timeline and was due to expire this month.

For Tejas, the latest Letter of Intent provides a fresh order for supplying network equipment as BSNL expands the footprint of its indigenous 4G network.
TCS's BSNL contract has also been an important contributor to the IT major's India business and overall topline growth.
