Police form three teams to trace gang that stabbed AIMIM leader to death in Vattepally

A 60-year-old All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader was allegedly stabbed to death by a group of persons at Vattepally, Falaknuma on Sunday night (August 30, 2026).
The victim was identified as Mahboob Ali. According to the police, at around 10 p.m. he was standing near Almas Hotel when the gang of about six men allegedly ambushed him and attacked him with knives. He suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
On receiving information about the attack, Falaknuma police reached the spot and began an investigation.
DCP Rajendranagar gave a statement about the murder and said three special teams had been formed to apprehend the suspects. The motive for the killing was not immediately known.
