NTA reschedules AIAPGET exam for 49 candidates after power cut at Jaipur centre

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday said that the AIAPGET exam for 49 candidates of a Jaipur centre will be rescheduled to September 1, 2026 as the candidates could not complete their exam due to power failure.

Out of 192 candidates who were appearing for the AIAPGET exam at Jaipur's Shri Satya Sai PG College centre, 49 could not complete their exam due to a power failure, the NTA said. Further details will be shared through revised admit card for these candidates, it added.

Sharing the details on re-exam, NTA said the test for those impacted by the power cut will be held at Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur, on September 1, at 10 am.

“For all the candidates who could not complete the examination, the National Testing Agency expresses regret for the inconvenience caused. Their re-examination will be conducted on 01 September 2026 at 10:00 A.M in Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur. Further details will be shared through the revised Admit Card issued for such candidates,” the NTA said.

NTA under scrutiny

This comes at a time when NTA is already under scrutiny for irregularity and mismanagement of examinations conducted by the central body.

Early this week, the NTA announced a re-examination for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in English, commerce and sociology following errors in the question papers flagged by a panel

On Tuesday, the Union education ministry said the NTA removed 600 subject experts, rolled out a four-tier question-paper checking system and will shift its headquarters from Okhla in south Delhi to central Delhi. This came after a series of paper leaks and question-paper errors that hit high-stakes examinations over the past two years and affected millions of students.
