Mumbai Police rescued a 65-year-old woman who was allegedly attempting suicide from the fifth floor of a building in Vikhroli on Sunday. ASI Pansare of Powai Police spotted her during his morning walk and alerted the Control Room. Police Inspector Gadade, personnel Sudham Binnar and MSF jawan Rathod coordinated the rescue. Police said the woman was later counselled and given necessary guidance.

Mumbai: A 65-year-old woman was safely rescued after she allegedly attempted to jump from the fifth floor of a building in Vikhroli, Mumbai Police said on Sunday. According to the Mumbai Police, Assistant Sub-Inspector Pansare of Powai Police Station spotted the woman during his morning walk while she was allegedly attempting to jump from the fifth floor of a building under the jurisdiction of Vikhroli Police Station.

Pansare immediately alerted the police Control Room, following which a police team was rushed to the location to prevent the woman from taking the extreme step. Police Inspector Gadade, police personnel Sudham Binnar and Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) jawan Rathod coordinated the rescue operation. Their timely intervention helped bring the woman to safety.

Following the rescue, the woman was counselled and provided with the necessary guidance, police said. The Mumbai Police also appealed to citizens to seek immediate assistance if they or someone around them is facing an emergency. The police urged people requiring emergency assistance or police support to dial 112.

Chauffeur Dies At Mumbai Airport

The incident comes amid another recent case in Mumbai involving the death of a 54-year-old chauffeur at Mumbai International Airport. According to police, Pramod Jadhav, a Worli resident employed as a chauffeur for government officials, allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the P10 level to P4 at Terminal 2's parking facility on Thursday.

Jadhav was stationed at the airport and had reported for duty at around 8.30 am. His responsibilities included transporting government officials, including judges, registrars and bureaucrats. The incident reportedly occurred around 11.30 am. Sahar police said Jadhav had been suffering from stage 2 chronic kidney disease and was reportedly depressed over his health condition for around six months.

Suicide Note Recovered

Police recovered a suicide note written in Marathi and addressed to his wife and daughter. According to police, the note stated that no one was responsible for his decision and that he was tired of continuing medication without seeing improvement in his condition. Senior Inspector Manoj Chalke said an accidental death report (ADR) was registered based on the contents of the note.
