Kartik Aaryan undergoes successful knee surgery after injury on Kabir Khan film set, ‘will be back on set soon’

Actor Kartik Aaryan has returned home following a successful knee surgery at a Mumbai-based hospital.

    Actor Kartik Aaryan has undergone successful knee surgery at a Mumbai-based hospital. The actor recently sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the sets of one of his films, after which he had to undergo surgery.

    According to a statement shared by his spokesperson, the National Award winner is currently recovering and is expected to resume shooting soon.

    "Kartik Aaryan sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the set of his film. His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon," his spokesperson said.

    Kartik suffered the injury during the shoot of his upcoming collaboration with director Kabir Khan. A source close to the production told , “Kartik was admitted to Fortis Raheja Hospital and is under medical care. The doctors will perform his knee surgery in a day, after which he will have to rest for a few days. He should then be able to resume his work commitments.” The actor had earlier sustained a knee injury during the shoot of his 2023 film, Shehzada.

    Kartik's National Award triumph

    While he may be battling an injury and recovering now, on the professional front, 2026 has been a red-letter year for Kartik. The actor recently won the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 72nd National Film Awards. Announced on July 18, the award was given to Kartik for his portrayal of India's first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar, in the biographical sports drama Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan.

    Reacting to the achievement on Instagram, Aaryan wrote, “Still processing… Some moments are simply bigger than words, and this is one of them. A dream I've carried for years has finally come true. Forever humbled, forever grateful..Best Actor National Award #ChanduChampion.”

    Kartik shared the Best Actor honour with Malayalam screen icon Mammootty, who was adjudged for his performance in Bramayugam. This is Kartik's first National Award, while it is Mammootty's fourth.

    After his recovery, Kartik is expected to resume the shoot for Kabir Khan's untitled film. He is also to shoot the remaining portions of Anurag Basu's romantic drama opposite Sreeleela.
