Kangana Ranaut calls Taapsee Pannu a ‘sasti copy’ after remark on her ‘upbringing’

Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu have resumed their feud. The two, who have been exchanging words since 2019, are at it again, after a recent statement by Taapsee got Kangana’s attention, post which she took to her Instagram Stories to relaunch her “sasti copy” offensive against her fellow actor.
In a now-deleted Instagram Story that Kangana had posted on Sunday morning, the actor wrote, “One sasti copy is out and about with her upcoming B-grade film, but as usual, the only headline point with the media is Kangana Ranaut, but today, she crossed all limits, shamelessly ridiculing my upbringing/parents.”
“I think all parents do their best, and I never bring any parents in to any argument, but today, I also want to ask her parents why they couldn’t birth someone original like my parents did? Why a cheap, sasti copy? I feel sorry for your efforts,” added Kangana. However, she soon deleted her Instagram Story, which is not visible on her profile anymore.

Kangana Ranaut was responding to a statement by Taapsee Pannu on Saturday. When the latter was asked if she’s buried the hatched with Kangana now, Taapsee told , “I haven’t met her. I didn’t meet her before when these so-called issues started. I haven’t met her now as well. My opinion on her is reflective of my upbringing and my way of talking, my way of perceiving things and hers. She stands by hers. So, I think that’s enough for everybody to look at and decide who comes from where.”
Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu’s feud
The feud between Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu started back in 2019, when the latter took to her social media to heap praise on the trailer of the former’s 2019 black comedy Judgementall Hai Kya. The film, produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, was written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Prakash Kovelamudi. Also starring Rajkummar Rao and Amrita Puri, it was headlined by Kangana, whose name Taapsee didn’t mention while appreciating the trailer.
That omission riled up Kangana’s sister and then-manager Rangoloi Chandel, who referred to Taapsee as a “sasti copy” (cheap copy) of the actor on social media. Responding to that claim, Taapsee later told the media that Kangana isn’t the only one who has “copyright” over curly hair and brutally honest opinions. She also admitted to being “sasti” since Kangana was the highest paid female actor of India at the time.
Kangana Ranaut launched another offensive against Taapsee Pannu during the pandemic, when she referred to her and fellow actor Swara Bhaskar as “B-grade actor” and “needy outsiders”. However, Taapsee argued that outsiders to Bollywood should not be pitted against each other. Instead, they should all work together to make the film industry a better place. She went on to start her production house Outsider Films in 2021.
