Hyundai taps Reliance-backed Jio-bp to take EV charging network to 37,000+ points
Synopsis
Hyundai Motor India and Jio-bp are integrating their electric vehicle charging networks. This partnership expands charging points to over 37,000 across India. Users can now access Jio-bp's 7,000 charging points through the myHyundai app. Hyundai plans to significantly increase its own fast-charging stations by 2030. This collaboration aims to enhance charging accessibility and reduce customer anxiety.

Hyundai Motor India has partnered with Reliance Industries-backed Jio-bp to integrate their electric vehicle charging networks, expanding the charging points available to EV users through the myHyundai app to more than 37,000 across India.
The tie-up brings more than 7,000 Jio-bp pulse charging points across 300-plus cities onto Hyundai’s charging platform. The partnership also gives Jio-bp users access to Hyundai Motor India’s charging network, which currently has 183 operational DC fast-charging stations.
The move comes as automakers and energy companies look to expand India’s EV charging infrastructure and address a key barrier to electric vehicle adoption in India.
Under the partnership, users can discover and access Jio-bp charging stations through the myHyundai app. The platform is open to EV users across vehicle brands, allowing them to locate and use public charging points through a single interface.
“At HMIL, our vision is to provide customers with a holistic and worry-free electric mobility experience. As we continue to expand our EV product line-up in India, we are witnessing a shift in customer concerns from range anxiety to charging anxiety, underscoring the growing importance of accessible, reliable, and convenient charging infrastructure,” said Hyun Sup Lee, executive director and function head, corporate planning, Hyundai Motor India.
“This partnership with Jio-bp pulse marks another significant step towards strengthening the EV ecosystem in India by enhancing charging accessibility and convenience for our customers,” he said.
Jio-bp brings 7,000+ charging points
Jio-bp, the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility, a joint venture between Reliance Industries and bp, has more than 7,000 active charging points across 300-plus cities.
Several of its charging stations are located along major national highways. The company operates DC fast chargers with capacities ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW and says its network has a 96% uptime.
“India's shift to electric mobility depends on building trust at scale. Our partnership with Hyundai Motor India reflects that shared conviction. By bringing our nationwide network and high-performance charging infrastructure to Hyundai, we are not just adding charging points, we are building that trust together,” said Sarthak Behuria, chairman, Jio-bp.
“This collaboration marks a meaningful step in our broader vision to make clean mobility accessible, dependable, and future-ready for every Indian on the road,” he added.
Hyundai plans 600 fast-charging stations by 2030
Hyundai Motor India currently operates 183 DC fast-charging stations and plans to increase the network to 600 stations by 2030.
The company’s chargers will also gradually become available on the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app, including the 183 operational stations and future installations.
“For EV owners, range anxiety is often not just about charger availability, but about knowing whether the next charger will be operational. That’s where Jio-bp pulse comes in, with high-uptime charging stations and fast-charging technology designed to deliver a reliable and fast charging experience,” said Akshay Wadhwa, CEO, Jio-bp.
“Together with Hyundai, we are making it easier for customers to access this network directly through the app. We are excited to give EV owners a charging experience that matches the quality of the vehicles they drive,” he added.
The companies will also explore customer-focused offers as part of the partnership.
