Ensure all necessary preparations, maintain vigilance in view of the severe flood in Nepal: U.P. CM to officials

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday (August 26, 2026) directed the local administration in Maharajganj and Kushinagar districts to ensure all necessary preparedness measures and vigilance in view of the severe flooding of the Bhotekoshi River in Nepal’s Rasuwa region.
“In view of the severe flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Nepal’s Rasuwa region, vigilance has been intensified in the bordering districts of Maharajganj and Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh. Describing the damage caused by the severe flooding in Nepal as deeply concerning, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the local administration in Maharajganj and Kushinagar to ensure all necessary preparedness measures,” read an official statement.
The statement further read, “Due to the flooding in Nepal, water levels in the Gandak and Narayani rivers in Maharajganj and Kushinagar may rise. In this regard, the Chief Minister has instructed the local administration to maintain strict vigilance and closely monitor the rivers’ water levels,”.
Mr. Adityanath prayed to Lord Pashupatinath for the safety and well-being of all those affected. “The damage caused by the flooding in Nepal is extremely concerning. He also prayed to Lord Pashupatinath for the safety and well-being of all those affected,” he added.
