Bevco clocks liquor sales of ₹771.29 crore during 8-day Onam period

The Kerala State Beverages Corporation (KSBC) clocked liquor sales of ₹771.29 crore during the eight days leading up to Onam till August 25. The corresponding figures during the previous year was ₹694.9 crore, KSBC MD Yogesh Gupta told .

The highest daily sales of ₹132.87 crore during the period was recorded on August 24, while the sales on Uthradom day (August 25) was ₹126.34 crore. The sales figures for Uthradom were lower compared to the previous year’s ₹137.64 crore. 

All-time high

Last year, Bevco had recorded an all-time high of ₹970.74 crore in liquor sales from its outlets in Kerala during the 12-day Onam season. The corporation supplies liquor through its 289 outlets across the State. The outlets remained closed across the State on Wednesday (August 26), the Onam day. Apart from KSBC, Consumerfed also operates liquor outlets in the State, and the data on its liquor sales are yet to be released.

The Onam season has been a significant revenue boost for the State-owned KSBC. To meet the increasing demand during the Onam season, the corporation’s warehouses were well-stocked. With the Christmas season approaching, the corporation will soon begin replenishing their warehouses for the upcoming festivities
